Fire Element and the Heart & Small Intestine Meridians.

The focus of this workshop is the Fire Element and the Heart & Small Intestine Meridians. In TCM, the Fire element is associated with the season of summer. Fire relates to the sun, light, warmth, and heat. Summer is the season of abundance, when things come into maturity and life is in full bloom. The heart sets our rhythm in life. Fire energy inside sparks us to come alive, to be open and to feel abundance. The fire in our hearts is what radiates out into the world as the light of our individual awareness. This flame allows us to become conscious of ourselves and others, to express love and gratitude, and to become awake in our lives.

Yin and Pins: Wood Element Acupuncture and Yoga

allietree.jpg

Join Yoga Medicine® Registered Therapeutic Specialist Allie Geer, and Licensed Acupuncturist Kat Dunbar of Niwot Natural Medicine, for a 2 hour immersion, blending Traditional Chinese Medicine and the practice of Yin Yoga. Inspired by our deep connection to the universe, this workshop is designed to nourish the body from the inside out. The focus of this workshop is the season of spring and the wood element. We will combine longer held yin yoga poses with acupuncture needles to nourish our connective tissue and build Qi, through the integration of the Liver and Gall Bladder meridians.

Be prepared to feel rejuvenated, relaxed, and deeply nourished after this workshop. Due to the unique nature of this workshop, limited space is available.

Wood Element: Liver & Gallbladder Meridians

The focus of this workshop is the Wood Element and the Liver & Gallbladder Meridians.  The Wood element is what provides us with a sense of renewal, reawakening and rebirth. The Wood is associated with the spring, a time of renewal and new growth. As we see in the spring, those aspects of us that have been dormant over the winter months begin to awaken.  Just as nature enters a cycle of renewal, growth and expansion—so does the energy within us.

Wood is about growth and balance.  The image in nature is the tree which grows with roots solidly planted in the earth (yin), and trunk and branches reaching upward and outward (yang).  Our yin yoga class will be cleansing, and focus on the moving and shifting of stagnant energy, and the clearing out of accumulated debris and tension.  This is the season to plant seeds for a future harvest, to look ahead and make new plans, formulate new ideas, make decisions and determine our direction for the coming year.

When: Saturday 05/11/2019
Where: The Hidden Yoga Studio
Time: 1 - 3:00 pm
Cost:  $65 Early Bird $75 after May 1st

Yin and Pins: Water Element Acupuncture and Yoga

Water.jpg

Join Yoga Medicine® Registered Therapeutic Specialist Allie Geer, and Licensed Acupuncturist Kat Dunbar of Niwot Natural Medicine, for a 2hour immersion, blending Traditional Chinese Medicine and the practice of Yin Yoga. Inspired by our deep connection to the universe, this workshop is designed to nourish the body from the inside out. The focus of this workshop is the season of winter and the Water element. We will combine longer held yin yoga poses with acupuncture needles to nourish our connective tissue and build Qi, through the integration of the Bladder and Kidney meridians. Be prepared to feel rejuvenated, relaxed, and deeply nourished after this workshop. Due to the unique nature of this workshop, limited space is available.

Water Element: Kidney & Bladder

The focus of this workshop is the Water Element and the Kidney and Bladder Meridians. The wisdom of water is its incredible strength, it carves rock and shapes the entire earth, but without force. The water element allows for adaptation to all of life’s changes, challenges and stresses. Winter is the home of the water element, and is also the season most dominant in Yin energy. Just as a bear hibernates in winter, the water element of this season asks us to engage in re nourishing activities. A Yin Yoga practice to support and balance the water element typically tends to support vitality. Our aim in our water practice is to support the uninterrupted flow of blood and Qi, like the flow of water.

Yin and Pins Year Long Immersion with Allie Geer RYT500 and Kat Dunbar L.Ac.

Yin&Pins.png

Join Yoga Medicine® Registered Therapeutic Specialist Allie Geer and Kat Dunbar, L.Ac., for a 2-hour immersion, merging the two ancient modalities of Acupuncture and yoga. Each class of this series will focus on one of the Chinese Five Elements, recognizing that we are all an embodiment of Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water.

This workshop is designed to nourish the body from the inside out, and will bring relaxation and balance to your system. We will combine longer held Yin poses with Acupuncture needles to nourish our connective tissue and build Qi, integrating specific meridians of Qi. Balanced yin is essential to have relaxed muscles and joints, strong immunity, mental clarity, overall health and vitality. Balance your daily activities with the deep rest and nourishment that Yin & Pins brings.

Metal Element: Lung & Large Intestine

The focus of this workshop is the Metal Element and the Lung and Large Intestine meridians. The metal element governs our ability to take in life, absorb what is good for us and to let go of the rest, making space for the new. Autumn is a time to let go of things that no longer nourish us, to slow down, and draw inward. If we look in nature, we see that it is part of the process to constantly be moving through our lives, not staying stagnant. The only way for new leaves to blossom and thrive, is for the old leaves to drop when it’s their time. In an ever-shifting world, may this practice help you find balance and stillness.

Where: The Hidden Yoga Studio
Time: 1 - 3:00 pm
Cost: $65 early bird, $75 after November 1st
